I booked nearly a year in advance, so i got a really good price. The accommodation was ideal for us. The park is lovely and well organised. The pools are great, and the pool bar is fab. You have the grocery shop and a restaurant next to it as well. Beware of the siesta hours (midday closing times). You can use washing machines for 5 Euros if you run out of clean clothes. The info booth is very helpful, we bought the 48 hour family ticket for the tourist open deck bus, as it's a great way to see Rome from a good height, take some good photos, and you can get on and get off as many times as you like. Getting to Rome is super easy. If you plan to go every day, i'd recommend getting a weekly travel card for 24 Euros from the information booth or the reception, this will work on buses as well as the underground, or you can get one for 3 days for 18 Euros. The bus to Rome leaves from just outside the park, turn left at the main gate, walk 1 minute to the main road and cross the road - the bus sop is on the opposite side of the road. (you can also get the camp's own shuttle bus, but it only works in the mornings and in the evenings). The public transport buses run every 20 mins to Fermi underground station, and you can take that train to get to the Colosseum and all the other central places. Metro in Rome only has like 4 lines, so compared with London, its super simple. One criticism: there's never enough people on the main reception desk. And some of them are super slow. I mean really slow. Completely oblivious to the queues outside. But on the whole, i think it's a great park, very clean, and i would definitely recommend it.

Amazing family holiday

We had a wonderful family holiday here. I booked direct though Hu open air, we booked an excellence green house, it was towards the back of the park but only about a 5 min walk to the pool. I was very happy with the cleanliness and the faculties. We mainly had BBQs but I did use the microwave/ oven/ hobs once or twice and all worked fine. The coffee pod machine was hidden in another cupboard. It was lovely to get up in the morning and go to the cafe and pick up pastries/ coffee then get fresh bread in the little onsite shop. The shop has everything you need but there is another supermarket about a 15 minute walk away which had a much better selection and was a good bit cheaper, we only went there once and stocked up on BBQ stuff. Water/ soft drinks/ ice cream/ bread were all easier to buy on site and not that expensive, less than what you'd pay at a corner shop in Ireland. The road down to the shop was not the safest but not too bad. We walked to the side and were not on the actual road. The traffic moved slowly. There is no exit out of the back of the campsite which is a pity but I understand it'd be a security issue. We went into Rome 2 days. The bus to the metro took about 20 minutes, we didn't prebuy tickets just tapped our phones. The same with the metro, tapped to pay. The road is very busy to cross but there are pedestrian lights, so just wait and you will get across, don't be tempted to run across if you see the bus coming. Another one will be along. There are no safes in the houses and we cannot be sure but we think some cash was taken from our lodge. I did report it but since we had no police report nothing could be done. I would just leave cash hidden. As with all holidays where I am in the pool I do not bring any valuable jewellery inc wedding rings The onsite restaurant was nice with a range of things that would suit most people. The take away was good as well. But we mainly had BBQs. The check in process took over a hour! Which was annoying. I appreciate they are busy. However, talking to others they didn't have the same wait so I think we were unlucky. After a while I needed to change my baby and asked to go into the bathroom which was no issue. I should have done that earlier, there was a playground behind along with the shop. Also cigarettes can only be bought from a machine at the entrance in a gravel car park, you need and Italian ID card Bring enough swim nappies, they ran out of them onsite. We got them in a pharmacy in Rome. The pool was the big draw for us, we had our just turned 1 year old son and he loved it. Instead of tiles it is a soft grippy sponge so he could play happily. Drinks/ Ice cream at the pool side bar were more expensive but OK. Also no sloppy loud drunks which you get in some places. Overall an amazing family holiday and I really hope to return or try their other campsites in future. It was perfect for a mix of seeing some parts of Rome along with relaxing in the sun/ pool with a small child.

Pleasant park close to Rome. Good base for families exploring the city

We have just got back from a week here and really enjoyed it. It’s easy enough to get into central Rome (a 20 min bus ride then metro). We stayed in a ‘premium’ holiday home and it was perfectly fine, although basic for premium. Be prepared to have no kettle or toaster or oven! The site was clean and pleasant. Many facilities weren’t open - the pool didn’t open till the end of the the week and there was no entertainment or sports/fitness activities. This was a bit of a shame but we did pay a low price which I think reflected this. So the park will be a bit livelier as the season picks up. The children still enjoyed the playground and riding round on go karts. The on site bar and restaurant is fine, and we did eat there, but would recommend eating in Rome for slightly better quality food. But that’s not surprising.

My family and I (7 of us) went to camp fabulous for 2 weeks and thoroughly enjoyed it. From the pool to trips to Rome it was by far our favourite family holiday yet after always going to 5 star campsites Camp Fabulous still comes out on top for us. The pool is huge, great atmosphere with music and entertainment, great pool bar and lots of sun loungers for everyone. There was entertainment every evening, great for younger kids, lots of sports grounds etc. for older kids. There’s an ice cream parlour, a shop, a restaurant, a takeaway and more all very good services, we didn’t completely enjoy the food in the restaurant but that’s not a big issue with the takeaway on sight, also barbecues at the mobile home and only a bus + metro journey away from the centre of Rome with plenty of places to eat! Staff on sight were very helpful and accommodating. Would really highly recommend this campsite not a bad word to say about it, if you are considering visiting it I would definitely recommend going!
